Owners of leased buildings call for fair rental law

Owners of leased buildings' gathering urged on Saturday the Lebanese government to issue a new law on fair rental.

During a press conference held at Comfort Hotel in Hazmieh, the head of the gathering Joseph Zougheib held the Speaker Nabih Berri and the head of the Parliament's Administration and Justice Committee MP Robert Ghanem responsible for any disaster that may take place, calling for immediately issuing a new draft law for rentals, since disasters similar to that of Fassouh building may happen.

For his part, the owner of the collapsed Fassouh building Claude Saadeh, noted that he is under the law, holding the government and the Municipality of Beirut directly responsible for the incident.
