Mufti Qabbani: Lebanese people should wake up before falling into strife

The Mufti of the Republic Sheikh Mohammad Rashid Qabbani stressed on Wednesday that the Lebanese people will not be rid of the "dictatorship formed in the name of the confessions," unless every faction is given the right to be represented in Parliament.

On the occasion of the Prophet's birthday (Eid Mawlid al-Nabawi), Qabbani said that in Lebanon, every sect is considered a "dictatorship on to itself as it monopolizes the votes of its people".

In this context, Qabbani called on the Lebanese people "to wake up or otherwise fall victim to strife."
