Suspect Anthony Khalil handed over to ISF, victims buried in Lasa

Earlier, Pastor of Our Lady of the Rosary Church in Hrajel, Father Hareth Khalil, announced that an agreement was reached to hand over the shooter of Ghassan and Hadi Seifeddine, Anthony Khalil, to security apparatuses following a meeting between his family members and Kesrouan officials.

This step followed a kind initiative by Lasa residents to hold a funeral for the two victims, members of the Seifeddine family, upon the request of Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah.      

Father Khalil told LBCI that the handing over process will only take a few hours, confirming the approval of Anthony Khalil’s family. “The only guarantee is the state,” he said.      

Khalil pointed out that contacts are underway with the residents of Lasa to set the appropriate date for Hrajel residents to extend their condolences to the Seifeddine family.       

This as a delegation from the Free Patriotic Movement including Kesrouan MPs already extended their condolences to the Seifeddine family in Lasa and visited Hrajel. 

In this context, LBCI sources reported that President Michel Sleiman commissioned General Security Chief Abbas Ibrahim to send a message of condolences on his behalf to the Seifeddine family.
