Mikati urges all parties to abstain from targeting gvt through national economy

Prime Minister Najib Mikati called for separating the economy from politics and urged all parties to abstain from targeting the government through the "national economy". Mikati’s statements came during his meeting with a delegation from the economic bodies headed by former minister Adnan al-Kassar who handed Mikati a document including the bodies’ demands and suggestions aimed at lifting Lebanon from its crisis.

Also on Thursday, Mikati met with U.S. ambassador to Lebanon Maura Connelly whereby they discussed the latest developments in the region.
