Akkar’s Muslim Scholars: civil marriage is an irreligious marriage

Akkar's Muslim scholars stressed on Sunday their rejection for the civil marriage draft law, calling for its withdrawal from discussions to protect civil peace. They urged the media outlets to rise to the level of national responsibility and stop creating strives.

Following a meeting they held in Halba, Akkar, the Muslim Scholars said that civil marriage is an irreligious marriage and the Sunni sect condemns the endorsement of such a marriage by some of its politicians.

On the other hand, they praised the stances launched by the Mufti of the Republic Sheikh Mohammad Rashid Qabbani who refused the civil marriage, calling on everyone to follow his steps.
