Assir's visit to Arsal cancelled

LAF members reopened on Wednesday the Tal al-Abyad road in Baalbek and the Labwe road after residents blocked them to protest the visit of the Imam of the Bilal Ben Rabah Mosque Sheikh Ahmad al-Assir to the town of Arsal.

Shortly after, sources told LBCI that Sheikh Ahmad al-Assir will not visit Arsal today but will hold a press conference later on in the day instead.

Later in the day, the Sheikh held a press conference and said that "his visit to Arsal was just a rumor spread by anonymous people."

He then called for stopping the exportation of fuel oil to Syria since "it contributes to the killing of the Syrian people", stressing that "Sidon's residents will not allow Syrian trucks transporting fuel from crossing their city."
