UCC: All schools, public institutions to close as of Tuesday

The Union Coordinating Committee (UCC) issued on Monday a statement in response to the postponement of the cabinet session where the ministers were expected to refer the ranks and salaries scale to the Parliament.

In the statement, the UCC confirmed that it will kick off its open ended strike as of Tuesday outside the Grand Serail until the series is referred to Parliament for ratification, holding the government responsible for the negative repercussions that would follow.

The statement noted that the government has proved its incredibility, since it delayed its session as a result of the pressure exerted by the economic bodies.

The committee then called on private educational institution teachers to join in the strike since their future is intertwined to that of the teachers of the public sector.

In this context, the UCC announced that all public institutions including schools and offices will be closed tomorrow.
