REPORT: Bogdanov to LBCI: There is still hope for a political solution in Syria

Russia’s Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov announced on Thursday that there is still hope for a political solution in Syria, stressing that Russia’s support for Syrian President Bashar Assad is keeping him in power, “in addition to a large fragment of the Syrian people who still support him.”

Bogdanov told LBCI that there are divisions within the opposition "which includes hardline organizations."

“The head of the Syrian National Coalition Moaz al-Khatib is welcome to visit Russia anytime,” he said.
