Mansour: Transferring weapons into Syria jeopardizes Lebanon’s stability

Foreign Minister Adnan Mansour stressed on Thursday that Lebanon will not change its self-distancing policy, but politicians should not fabricate “a systematic debate in this regard”, noting that his statement about the 15 decisions taken by the Arab League concerning Syria has not led to any positive result, instead the violence increased, negatively affecting Lebanon and neighboring countries.

During a word he delivered from the airport, Mansour added that “the Arab League must renew its contacts with Syria,” noting that there is no wrong in calling for the Syria's reinstatement at the Arab League in order to hold discussions to reach a political solution to end the Syrian war.

On the other hand, Mansour considered that the decision issued on Wednesday allowing any state to transfer weapons into Syria will jeopardize Lebanon's stability.
