Interior Minister to visit Tripoli

Interior and Municipalities Minister Marwan Charbel will be visiting Tripoli later on Saturday, where clashes resumed on Friday night following the resignation of PM Najib Mikati.     

Mikati’s supporters had gathered in the city’s squares and blocked the road, expressing solidarity with him after he declared his resignation on Friday night.          

Commenting on Mikati’s step, Charbel told al-Liwaa Daily: “We were dealing with the crisis of the elections, now we are facing the crises of cabinet formation and the elections”.
