REPORT: Maronite League’s elections end, votes counting starts

The elections of the Maronite League to elect a president, a vice-president and an executive council of 15 members to replace the previous council ended on Saturday in the afternoon and the vote counting started .

According to the electoral agenda, 950 league members out of 1216 have the right to vote after having paid their dues.

However, 47 candidates are competing in two complete electoral lists, one headed by Samir Abillamah, and another headed by Antoine Qlimos, as well as one incomplete list headed by Talal Doueihy, while two candidates are running as independents.
