Abou Faour confirms ongoing discussions with Berri

Caretaker Social Affairs Minister Wael Abou Faour stressed on Thursday that they will carry on discussions with Speaker Nabih Berri, despite the opposing position voiced by the National Struggle Front (NSF) on Wednesday, noting that they will continue seeking an agreement over the new cabinet and the electoral law.

Following his meeting with Berri, Abou Faour pointed out that the stance taken by the NSF by abstaining from attending the parliament session on Wednesday "should not have been taken", neither on the political level, nor on the constitutional level.

He hoped that the suspension of the electoral deadlines will be considered as a chance to reach consensus over an electoral law and to form a cabinet "the soonest possible."
