Agriculture Ministry bans watermelon imports without previous permit

Caretaker Agriculture Minister Hussein al-Hajj Hassan issued on Saturday a decision by which the watermelon imports would require a previous import permit.

According to the decision, the watermelon imports will require a previous permit issued by the Exports and Imports Control Authority and Agricultural Quarantine at the Directorate of Agricultural Resources, following the approval of the concerned minister.

In this context, each importer must obtain the permit and submit it to the center of Agricultural Quarantine when carrying out an import operation.
