Rai from Sao Paolo: Bkerke stands at the same distance from all parties

Maronite Patriarch Cardinal Beshara Boutros Rai expressed on Tuesday his relief toward the positive atmosphere prevailing over the meetings held between Maronite officials in order to reach an agreement over a new electoral law, stressing the importance of unity among Christians during "this difficult situation" in Lebanon and the region.

While receiving a delegation from the Maronite community in Sao Paolo, Rai reiterated his confirmation that Bkerke “stands at the same distance” from all parties, pointing out that the Maronites have a major responsibility in cooperating with all the Lebanese factions in order to preserve Lebanon’s role and message to the world.

On the other hand, the Patriarch stressed that he is in continuous contacts with all the political parties in Lebanon and is following up on all the developments.
