Quake struck Russia's Kamchatka Peninsula
   
A 6.0-magnitude earthquake hit Russia's Kamchatka Peninsula early on Tuesday. It was followed by a series of strong aftershocks, the US Geological Survey reported.                

The first quake struck at a depth of 33 kilometers and 136 kilometers east-southeast of the Russian city of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, the USGS reported.              

The report added that there was a low probability of casualties and damage.
