Minister of Public Health Dr. Firas al-Abyad said in a press conference on Friday that 80 percent of the Lebanese who had recently contracted the Coronavirus were unvaccinated.
“We’ve noticed some nonchalance from the citizens’ end in taking prevention measures. We take this opportunity to remind people of the existence of this virus,” the Minister said, explaining that there’s an expected increase in the number of cases — not only in Lebanon.
Al-Abyad also confirmed that the readiness of hospitals across Lebanon has increased by 30 percent.
“The Ministry of Health is fully aware of the significance of the health situation for the educational sector and is working on securing vaccines,” he concluded. a
