MP Araji to LBCI: Current situation of hospitals worrying compared to last year
Head of the parliamentary health committee MP Assem Araji dubbed on Sunday the current situation of hospitals as “worrying” compared to last year.

Araji’s comments were made during an interview with LBCI’s Nharkom Said TV show whereby he said that hospital beds that were available for Covid-19 patients in 2020 were 2,500 beds, but are now less than 850 beds.

He attributed the decrease in Covid-19 beds to a drop in Coronavirus cases, the closing of Covid-19 wards, medical personnel immigration, and the collapse of the Lebanese pound.

"In the event of a Coronavirus outbreak, such as the one seen last year, the health sector will be unable to contain and cure it." Araji elaborated.

He also urged everyone to adhere to the preventive measures and to get vaccinated.
