Hamadeh declares closure of schools due to heavy storm
Caretaker Minister of Education Marwan Hamadeh announced on Monday the closure of public and technical schools on Tuesday in the regions located over 700 meters above the sea level, due to bad weather conditions and snow.
 
Private schools are allowed to take the appropriate decision in the light of the minister’s directives “while taking into consideration “the educational situation and the safety of the students.”
 
This as a new statement "will be issued on Tuesday afternoon regarding the schools on Wednesday," Hamadeh added.
 
This as the General Secretariat of Catholic Schools in Lebanon issued a statement later in the day in which it called for dismissing classes on Tuesday, adding that it will wait for weather forecasts to decide upon Wednesday's classes.
