Ahmadinejad heads for New York
Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad left Tehran on Saturday and headed for New York to participate in a meeting for the UN General Assembly, where he will deliver his final speech to the world, Iranian media reported.

His speech this year will be very important given sharp differences with the UN Security Council over Iran's nuclear program, and Israeli threats to launch preventive strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities.

Ahmadinejad's presence in New York for the UN meeting has sparked small protests, in the past.
