REPORT: Khor Virap an Armenian church near the border with Turkey

In 301, Armenia became the first nation to adopt Christianity as a state religion.

It established a church that today exists independently of both the Catholic and the Eastern Orthodox churches; Khor Virap.

The Khor Virap is an Armenian Apostolic Church monastery located in the Ararat plain in Armenia, near the border with Turkey, about 8 kilometers south of Ararat Province.
