Cry of Depositors Organization to Mikati: We will not compromise on our rights

Cry of Depositors Organization (Sarkhat El Moudi3in) stressed on Saturday in a statement addressed to Prime Minister Najib Mikati that “depositors are still, to this day, bearing losses and paying their lifetime’s earning for mistakes committed by banks, the Banque du Liban and successive governments."

"The interests obtained by depositors are their legitimate right to the money that the banks invested, and accumulated profits from before being transferred abroad," the organization pointed out.

The organization also noted that “the government must immediately stop the daily losses incurred by the depositors,” stressing that “the parties who stole our money, transferred it and squandered it, and by that we mean banks, Banque du Liban and successive governments, are the ones who should incur those losses.”
