Qatar: Ceasefire efforts in Gaza ongoing, no breakthrough yet

The spokesperson for Qatar's Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated Tuesday that efforts to reach a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip are ongoing following recent rounds of talks aimed at ending the 11-month war, with no clear breakthrough.

At a press conference in Doha, Majed Al Ansari said, "The efforts are still ongoing, and communication channels remain open. The objectives, visits, and meetings are continuing."

Months-long negotiations, mediated by Qatar, Egypt, and the United States, have failed to bring about a cessation of fighting between Hamas and Israel, aside from a one-week truce in late November.
