REPORT: LAF units end clashes between the Zeaiter clansmen and al-Hjoula family members

Lebanese Armed Forces Units intervened on Tuesday to contain the situation in the Lailaki region which is located in the Southern Suburbs of Beirut following clashes that erupted between Zeaiter clansmen and members of the al-Hjoula family.

The clashes reportedly erupted on the backdrop of a personal dispute between the 2 families.

An eyewitness told LBCI that medium range weapons are being used, adding that the residence of Firas Zeaiter had been burned due to the mutual use of rocket propelled grenades between the 2 families.

The witness added that residents of the Lailaki region are calling on Lebanese Armed Forces to intervene and on Civil Defense units, and Red Cross teams to aid them.
