Murr slams attack against Romanian Orthodox Archdiocese

MP Michel Murr urged the president, prime minister and the Interior minister on Wednesday to take immediate measures in order to unveil the perpetrators behind the attack against the Romanian Orthodox Archdiocese in Ashrafieh.

Murr confirmed that the Orthodox MPs will not remain tightlipped.

Murr told Voice of Lebanon that the attack targets a significant symbol of the Orthodox community, stressing that he has big faith in the abilities of the Army Command and security forces to unveil the perpetrators and impose severe sanctions on them.

Murr called on Orthodox MPs to hold a meeting and stage a demonstration in the Archdiocese.

The Romanian Orthodox Archdiocese in Ashrafieh was attacked on Tuesday night after unknown assailants broke into it, engaging in looting and sabotage.
