MP Raad says Abra incidents are more perilous than Naher al- Bared

      
Head of the Loyalty to the Resistance bloc MP Mohammad Raad described the Abra incidents as highly volatile, “even more so than the Naher al-Bared events”.            

“When the military institution, responsible for safeguarding national security and civil peace, is targeted, those responsible should be held accountable,” he said in reference to those behind the year and a half long escalation in Abra.            

During a mourning ceremony Monday, Raad called on the “other team” to reconsider its stances and line of action, saying “those calling for the construction of a government should not target its institutions.”             

“We are on the verge of a highly volatile period with the army command’s term approaching its end, our only options are extending the term of the army commander or appointing one in his place, or otherwise face vacuum and a military institution without a leader,” he warned.
