Israeli army: Lebanese Resistance Brigades leader killed in strike near Sidon

The Israeli army said it killed the leader of the group known as the "Lebanese Resistance Brigades," along with seven other members, in a strike carried out near Sidon.

According to military spokesperson Avichay Adraee, the target was Maher Qassem Hamdan, described as the group's commander in the Shebaa area.

The army claimed Hamdan was responsible for recruiting fighters, supplying them with weapons, and overseeing funding for the group, which it claimed is financed and directly linked to Hezbollah.

The statement added that Hamdan and seven others were killed while fleeing from Shebaa toward Sidon.
