Hariri after meeting Abbas: Palestinian impartiality in Lebanon strengthens cause

           
Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas received at the Phoenicia Hotel in Beirut where he is staying MP Bahia Hariri heading a delegation from Sidon, and discussed the situation in Lebanon and Palestine.         

During the meeting, MP Hariri welcomed Abbas’ visit to Lebanon, noting that a special relation links Sidon to the Palestinian cause and people since it has been a destination for Palestinian refugees and a longtime witness of the struggles of the people.              

In this context, MP Bahia Hariri praised the recent positions voiced by Abbas regarding the Palestinian presence in Lebanon and the possession of arms at refugee camps, pointing out that unity and impartiality of the Palestinian people strengthens the Palestinian cause.       

For his part, President Abbas welcomed Hariri’s visit and praised her stances and support for the Palestinian cause, admiring her efforts deployed in order to improve the relation between the Lebanese and Palestinian peoples in a bid to solidify stability in Lebanon and the refugee camps.                 

Abbas arrived to Lebanon Wednesday on a three-day official visit where met with a number of senior officials, including President Michel Sleiman, caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati and Speaker Nabih Berri.
