Designated committee follows up on the pay scale dossier

The state-run National News Agency reported on Friday that the committee designated by the head of the Court of Audit Judge Aouni Ramadan is following up on the series of ranks and salaries, noting that it held a meeting at the parliament with members of the subcommittee in order to discuss the file.

The committee is expected to hold demonstrations while the concerned authorities are dealing with the pay scale dossier.

Cabinet referred the wage scale to Parliament following weeks of nationwide protests on Thursday [March 21st].

The Union Coordinating Committee had launched its open ended strike on February 19th 2013 after making repeated called on then Prime Minister Mikati to validate the new salary scale and consequently refer it to Parliament for ratification.
