REPORT: Rabih al-Ahmad reveals to LBCI details behind the Baysour crime

Lebanese citizen Rabih al-Ahmad, victim of the Baysour crime, said on Saturday that none of the politicians stood by his side, adding that they made up lies and hid the truth behind the crime.       

Al-Ahmad told LBCI during Nharkom Said that he did not force Roudayna to marry him and mentioned that his wife’s family made him feel that they had finally accepted their marriage.         
In the details of the crime, Al-Ahmad said that he was lured to the house of Roudayna’s family whereby he was severely beaten by 7 men for almost 30 minutes, and then he was taken to the town’s square where they amputated his penis, adding that they wanted to murder him.                
Al-Ahmad stressed that he raised complaints against them and mentioned that 2 of them work with Deputy Akram Chehayyeb.                      

Rabih al-Ahmad said that his wife had told him various times that she tried to commit suicide due to pressures exerted on her by her brother.                   

For her part, Roudaymna Malaeb, Rabih al-Ahmad’s wife, told LBCI that he told her he’s from the Druze community and added that she was aggressed by him various times; expressing her hope that justice takes its course.         

In turn, caretaker Justice Minister Shakib Qortbawi told LBCI that the judiciary has never failed to perform its duties and is currently pursuing perpetrators.   

As for the chairperson of the National Committee for the follow-up on women's issues in Lebanon, Dr. Fahmiya Sharafeddine, she told LBCI that Lebanon will be witnessing similar cases due to the increasing rate of sectarianism in the country.           

Sources told LBCI on Tuesday the 15th of July that a Lebanese national identified as Rabih Al-Ahmad. who hails from the region of Akkar was admitted to hospital in Kaber Shamoun after being severely beaten and after having his penis amputated.    

Sources added that the resident married a few weeks ago a young woman from Aley despite the objection of her parents.           

On Monday, the victim received a phone call from his wife's family saying that they finally agreed on their marriage, and asking for a reconciliation lunch. However after finally meeting Rabih, the family forcefully beat the man and cut off his penis.
