PM-Designate Salam calls on EU to reconsider its stance

Prime Minister-Designate Tammam Salam commented Tuesday on the European Union's decision to put Hezbollah's military wing on its list of terrorist organizations, hoping that the EU will reconsider its stance.

Salam also pointed out that the said decision does not go in line with the EU's aim to help Lebanon overcome its "dire" political situation nor does it serve the Lebanese-European endeavor to address terrorism on the regional and international levels.

In this regard, Salam said that Lebanon is going through a "critical" phase, adding that the EU decision does not support the efforts exerted by President Michel Sleiman in a bid to revive national dialogue and to uphold stability on the political and security levels.
