Jisr: solution for STL crisis already exists

MP Samir el Jisr told Voice of Lebanon radio station that Independence Day will bear special meaning this year in light of the regional turmoil, adding that the Arab Spring was launched from Lebanon.

El Jisr stressed that former PM Saad Hariri will not stay abroad for long, hoping that he will soon return to Lebanon. “Only Hariri can determine when he will return”, Jisr said. Jisr said that President Michel Sleiman and PM Najib Mikati pledged before the international community to fund the Special Tribunal for Lebanon (STL).

“The solution for this particular crisis already exists and was adopted by former governments. To annul the decision to fund the STL requires a two-thirds vote”, Jisr said.
