President Sleiman holds several meetings, tackles general situation

President Michel Sleiman held a meeting on Monday at the Baabda Presidential Palace with caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati whereby they tackled the general situation in Lebanon as well as the work of the government throughout the current circumstances.

President Sleiman also met with Prime Minister-Designate Tammam Salam and discussed the latest contacts regarding the government line-up, stressing the need to exert efforts in order to form a new cabinet that enjoys political and public support.

In this regard, Sleiman held a meeting with caretaker Finance Minister Mohamad Safadi and caretaker Interior Minister Marwan Charbel who briefed Sleiman on the general security situation, highlighting the need to launch further investigations into the Daraya incident.

It is worth noting that President Sleiman also met with Director General of State Security Brigadier General George Karaa with talks featuring high on the steps the Directorate is taking to prevent any violations.
