Sub-parliamentary committee ratifies pay scale items

The sub-parliamentary committee proceeded on Monday in the ratification of items pertaining to the series of ranks and salaries, granting the Supreme Council of Customs and the Syndicate of Engineers 48 hours to rephrase their items so they may be resolved during Wednesday’s session.

On Thursday the 21st of March, the cabinet referred the wage scale to Parliament following weeks of nationwide protests.

The Union Coordinating Committee had launched its open ended strike on February 19th 2013 after making repeated called on Prime Minister Mikati to validate the new salary scale and consequently refer it to Parliament for ratification.
