Cardinal Rai says disputes between March 8 and 14 disrupting Lebanon's institutions

Maronite Patriarch Cardinal Beshara Rai held a meeting on Monday at the summer residence of the Patriarchate in Diman with a delegation of the Lebanese Diaspora in the presence of Jbeil archbishop Michel Aoun, the state-run National News Agency reported.

During the meeting, Cardinal Rai highlighted the importance of strengthening the relation between the Lebanese residents and expatriates, stressing the need to maintain stability in Lebanon.

On another note, Cardinal Rai said that "the fate of the region is linked to that of Christians and Muslims, pointing out that "disputes between the March 8 and 14 coalitions are disrupting Lebanon's institutions".

"I call on the Christian community to play a key role rather than being sided with the March 8 or the March 14 coalitions," Cardinal Rai added.
