Fadlallah urges the cabinet to take immediate action on U.S. spying
Information and Communication Committee Head MP Hassan Fadlallah said on Wednesday that the issue of the CIA spying requires immediate action by the cabinet.

Fadlallah urged the cabinet to put the issue on top of the first cabinet session and to prepare a complete file in this regard which includes the U.S. official acknowledgment of the presence of a U.S. intelligence base in Beirut, adding that this file should be later submitted to the United Nations and international bodies.

Fadlallah stressed, during a press conference in Nejme Square, the importance for the cabinet to undertake security and legal procedures to halt these violations and dismantle the eavesdropping devices.

Fadlallah said that “Countering U.S. spying should be in the heart of the Lebanese security apparatuses’ task,” calling for equaling the criminalization of the CIA spying to that of collaborating with the Israeli Mossad.

Fadlallah warned officials in the cabinet to be warily of U.S. visits so that Lebanon will not be left exposed, as he said.
