Kahwagi: Military institution will launch plan to maintain its work

Lebanese Armed Forces' Chief General Jean Kahwagi said on Tuesday the Army Command will launch a plan to maintain its work at the military institution and its external relations, adding that it will be firm in regards to the relations between LAF officers and political leaders.

During a meeting with top officials at Yarzeh, General Kahwagi said that the military institution should agree on points of discussions between LAF officials and political leaders prior to their occurrence.

General Kahwagi praised the efforts exerted by chiefs, brigades, regiments, and units in the past few years, adding that armed forces were capable of maintaining Lebanon's "current" security situation.

Kahwagi called on officers to be more vigilant and aware of the repercussions of the Syrian crisis, and of the challenges facing LAF soldiers.
