Gemayel pledges to follow up on Sahel Alma murder
MP Sami Gemayel said Friday that article 2 of the Lebanese Penal Code does not allow the transfer of the Syrian citizen, who committed the Sahel Alma murder, to Syria so that he would be tried there.

Kataeb Central Committee coordinator said the crime has been committed on Lebanese territories and thus, the Lebanese Law, that has the legal jurisdiction, ought not to allow the transfer of the criminal.

“The Lebanese-Syrian judicial convention is irrelevant in this case since article 4 of the convention prohibits any transfer of criminals if crime was committed in the state that should carry out the handover”, he said.

Gemayel pledged following up on all investigations and developments herein and voiced keenness on having the criminal punished.
