STL at the core of Mikati’s meeting with British ambassador

Prime Minister Najib Mikati and British ambassador to Lebanon Tom Fletcher met at the Grand Serail on Firday to discuss the Special Tribunal for Lebanon (STL).

Fletcher said that the international community’s stance on the STL is clear, stressing that a wise and calm command is required from all Lebanese sides to come out with results that serve Lebanon’s interests and prevent confrontations.

Mikati also discussed the bilateral relations between Lebanon and Turkey with the Turkish Deputy Prime Minister Ali Babacan on the head of a delegation.

At the Serail, Mikati met the U.N. Deputy Secretary-General Asha-Rose Migiro who arrived in Lebanon to head the 16th meeting of the U.N.’s Regional Coordination Mechanism. Mikati then met with the president of the department of Near Eastern Affairs at the German Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
