UCC continues collecting signatures on one million signatures petition

The Union Coordination Committee (UCC) continued on Monday its campaign aiming at collecting one million signatures for the "One Million Signatures" petition, in order to call for passing the ranks and salaries series at Parliament.

In this context, the UCC’s campaign reached the region of Baabda where a number of citizens and employees signed the petition in a show of solidarity with the committees demands.

The Union Coordinating Committee alongside the private and public schools association had launched an open ended strike on February 19th, 2013 after making repeated called on Prime Minister Najib Mikati to validate the new salary scale and consequently refer it to Parliament for ratification.

Cabinet referred the wage scale on Thursday 21st of March, 2013.
