President Sleiman underscores need to form new cabinet

President Michel Sleiman stressed on Tuesday the need to form a new government that tackles the social and living conditions of the Lebanese people specially with the coming of winter and the start of a new academic year.

"The formation of a new cabinet will not change the political status quo," President Sleiman said.

He also called on the Lebanese political parties to remain vigilant of the sensitivity of the current phase, urging them to waiver their preconditions in order to form a new cabinet in which all political parties participate.

Separately, President Sleiman held a meeting with a delegation of the Gathering of Christians in the Levant headed by Bishop Samir Mazloum.

The delegation handed Sleiman an invitation to attend the conference of the Christians of the Levant to be held on the 25th of October at the Melkite Greek Catholic Patriarchate in Rabweh.
