LF leader Geagea says Speaker Berri's initiative will not pay off

Lebanese Forces leader Samir Geagea said on Tuesday that "Speaker Nabih Berri's initiative will not pay off at the time being," noting that he had submitted a proposal to Berri over the necessary steps that should be undertaken in order to revive his initiative.

Following his meeting with a delegation of the Development and Liberation Bloc, LF leader Geagea held a press conference whereby he said that the concept of dialogue is not rejected, adding however that "dialogue with a party [Hezbollah] that does not change its political strategy is 'futile'".

"There is an urgent need to deal with the Lebanese people's problems by forming a new government. Prime Minister-Designate Tammam Salam must assume his responsibilities in this regard," Geagea added.
