Massive fire erupts in Chouf town of Shheem

A massive fire erupted on Friday afternoon in Shheem's Jarrah region in the Chouf governorate, scorching swathes of pine and cedar trees.

Lebanese Armed Forces' choppers are currently attempting to extinguish the fire since civil defense teams were not able to reach the aforementioned region.

Wildfires are destroying forests in Lebanon; green spaces currently cover less than 13% of the country's surface.
