Patriarch Yazigi meets with Pope Francis, tackles abducted bishops' dossier

The Greek Orthodox Patriarch of Antioch and All the East John X Yazigi held a meeting on Saturday with Pope Francis at the Vatican with talks featuring high on the Syrian crisis and the case of the two bishops who were abducted in Syria.

Pope Francis and Patriarch Yazigi also discussed the situation of the Christian community in Lebanon, Syria and the Middle East, stressing the need to improve relations between all churches in order to unite Christians.

Greek Orthodox Bishop Boulos Yaziji and Syriac Orthodox Bishop Yohanna Ibrahim were kidnapped on April 22nd in Syria by armed men en route from the Turkish border.
