STL Registrar to hold Twitter Q&A
The Registrar of the Special Tribunal for Lebanon, Herman von Hebel, will be answering questions from Lebanese citizens and the general public on Wednesday 7 December from 2 pm to 4 pm Central European Time (3 to 5 pm Beirut time)
Questions directed to the Registrar should contain the hashtag #STLRegistrar. The Registrar is in effect the Chief Executive of the tribunal and is responsible for all aspects of its administration including the budget, fundraising, relations with states and court management. His responsibilities also include oversight of the victim participation unit, witness protection and detention facilities. He will only be able to answer questions which relate to his responsibilities as Registrar.

This is an initiative to interact with the people of Lebanon and marks the official launch of the STL Twitter account, @STLebanon, which has been operative from 1 November 2011.

Although questions during the event were initially meant to be answered by Judge Sir David Baragwanath, a scheduling conflict kept the STL president from participating. However, participation by the Registrar may prove interesting following PM Najib Mikati's success in transferring Lebanon's $32 million STL contribution for 2011.
