Speaker Berri says dialogue best way to solve internal pending issues

Speaker Nabih Berri expressed on Thursday his optimism over negotiations currently underway between Iran and the P5+1 in Geneva.

He reiterated Iran’s right to use nuclear energy for peaceful purposes, calling on Lebanese leaders to draw lessons from the negotiations taking place in Geneva, adding that dialogue is best way to solve Lebanon’s pending issues.

The United States, Israel and some of their allies accuse Iran of pursuing military purposes in its nuclear energy program.

Iran categorically rejects the allegation, saying that as a signatory to the Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) and a member of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), it has the right to use nuclear technology for peaceful purposes.

On another note, Speaker Berri received calls from well-wishers for the occasion of Eid al-Adha.
