Future bloc calls Syrian regime "to stop sectarian rhetoric"

Future bloc held on Tuesday its weekly meeting in which it discussed latest developments in Lebanon and the entire region.

The bloc urged Jabal Mohsen's residents to not fall in the trap of Syrian President Bachar al-Assad, noting that the said neighborhood is a "core part of Tripoli city.'

The bloc also called on the Syrian regime "to stop its sectarian rhetoric," urging the Lebanese state to trial the Syrian officials who appear to be involved in the latest security incidents in the country.

On another note, Future bloc MPs reiterated their support to the Baabda Declaration and the dissociation policy, calling on Prime Minister-Designate Tammam Salam to form the government.

Prime Minister Najib Mikati announced the cabinet's resignation on Friday March 22, after talks deadlocked over the extension of Internal Security Forces chief Major General Ashraf Riff's mandate and the formation of an Election Supervisory Committee.

Salam was named Prime Minister-Designate after the second round of the binding parliamentary consultations to name a prime minister ended on the 6th of Aprilat the Baabda Palace, with 124 deputies nominating Salam as Prime Minister.
