Future bloc: Hezbollah chief Sayyed Nasrallah's latest speech "is tactic of psychological war"

Future bloc  held on Tuesday its weekly meeting in which the latest developments in Lebanon were tackled.

The bloc rejected the armed presence in the northern city of Tripoli, holding the security forces responsible for the safety of all Lebanese citizens across Lebanon.

The port city of Tripoli has long been a stronghold of Sunni Islamists in northern Lebanon.

But the city has become increasingly volatile in recent months due to the civil war in neighboring Syria, where the Sunni majority is leading a revolt against President Bashar al-Assad.

The bloc called on concerned authorities to punish the perpetrators of twin blasts in Tripoli, mainly after "investigations showed that the Syrian regime is involved in the blasts."

On Friday the 23rd of August, two explosions rocked the northern Lebanese city of Tripoli near the al-Taqwa and al-Salam mosques, leaving 45 killed and almost 500 others injured.

The bloc slammed Hezbollah Chief Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah's latest televised speech, saying that it is "a tactic of a psychological war."

On the formation of new government, the bloc accused Hezbollah of hindering the formation process, not handing over of the suspects in assassinating former Prime Minister Rafic Hariri, and deploying its gunmen cross Lebanon.

Salam was named Prime Minister-Designate after the second round of the binding parliamentary consultations to name a prime minister ended on the 6th of April at the Baabda Palace, with 124 deputies nominating Salam as Prime Minister.

Prime Minister Najib Mikati announced the cabinet's resignation on Friday March 22, after talks deadlocked over the extension of Internal Security Forces chief Major General Ashraf Riff's mandate and the formation of an Election Supervisory Committee.
