MP Kanaan says governmental void no longer acceptable

 
Change and Reform Bloc MP Ibrahim Kanaan said on Tuesday that deputies, being Lebanese citizens, are tasked with protecting Lebanon and maintaining its stability.

Following the bloc’s weekly meeting, MP Kanaan stated that deputies discussed the security situation in Tripoli, urging both the Internal Security Forces and the Lebanese Armed Forces to find a solution to the security breaches at the northern Lebanese city.

As for the governmental file, MP Kanaan said that “void is no longer acceptable”, stressing that the cabinet should convene to take decisions regarding some pending internal and regional files.

“Keeping in mind the repercussions of the Syrian crises on Lebanon, it is important that the cabinet convenes to take a decision regarding the Geneva II peace conference and Lebanon's role in this regard,” MP Kanaan said.

As for national dialogue, MP Kanaan reiterated that the bloc will hold talks on Thursday with the Future bloc in a bid to resume the sessions.

“Political factions should realize that internal issues should not be linked to developments in Syria” MP Kanaan said, stressing that dividing the state should not be accepted by any party.

For his part, MP Simon Abi Ramia discussed the file of Casino Du Liban (CDL), considering that it is an economic and touristic institution that provides job opportunities for a number of Lebanese citizens.

MP Abi Ramia called for carrying out financial investigations at the said institution, urging CDL officials to grant employees their full rights.
