Caretaker Minister of Industry Freij Sabounjian and caretaker Minister of Finance Mohammad Safadi held a meeting on Wednesday at the Ministry of Industry.
Discussions featured high over ways to ease the burden on business owners that have escalated due to the deteriorating economic situation in the country.
Both ministers tackled the proposal made by Minister Sabounjian on postponing the losses of institutions charged of income taxes for the year 2012 and 2013, over a period of six years instead of three.
Minister Safadi reportedly hailed the said suggestion, stressing that the Ministry of Finance will study the appropriate measures to put the plan into practice.
The two Ministers also reviewed means to exempt products and imports related to drug industries from the Value Added Tax (VAT).
