Nahhas to LBCI: Wage raise is purely technical no need to make it political

Economy Minister Nicolas Nahhas said that PM Najib Mikati made adjustment to the first wage decree and allowed the cabinet a 17% increase on wage raise leading to a fairer distribution.

Nahhas added that Mikati sought to spare the country a whirlwind inflation, stressing that Lebanon is on the verge of an unprecedented inflation crisis that should be prevented.

Nahhas added that the approach taken to the issue of wage raise is political, adding that the matter itself is purely technical. Nahhas stressed that the raise adopted is only 92% of what was originally decided.
